Bangkok 2005

Date: 10th – 13th November 2005

Venue: Bangkok

People on trip: Isaac Loo (me), Yeoh Guan Chin (our tour guide), Jeffery Slyvester(Kayaker), Azuan(backpacker) and none other than Boy Wonder Manfred Sam.

Time to depart KLIA: 10.30am Arrival Bkk: 11.30am(Thailand time)

 

WOW, i couldnt believe that bangkok drained my energy completely, i felt tired for a full 3 days after the trip, its got to be the walking around for 3 days non stop, i felt it was as bad as doing a marathon. it was great to be in a different soil, except for the usual con-man that always want tips from unsuspecting victims like tourist, tell you more about the tips later ok.

 

Day one: 10th November 2005: arrive bkk after a slight delay, terrible of Air Asia to be delayed, well it was just half hour, but the fella that cuss the flight to be delayed was none other than Azuan aka Bujal. it was fun no doubt bout it, the ride from TTDI to the airport was also fun, we snapped pictures like no tomorrow. ahah .. we were just acting japanese being camera whores. sumimasen jap friends.. ahha.. we took the taxi from the airport and it cost us 660bht. (good tip of advice take the public taxi ok) dont want to tell you why, JUST DO IT.(i will tell you once Azuan says its ok) Yeoh was already waiting for us at the hotel lobby, cause he was DAMM HUNGRY .. ahah so were we, Manfred kept saying hey lets grab a bite first la, ahha .. but we arrived bkk one hour later than the expected time. so we go to check in first mah..Yeoh took us by bus to another place near the hotel, we passed by this side road vendor selling flip flops for only 590bht (RM5.20) cheaper than Bata.

 

Afternoon for day one: lunch at Central complex at this place called Banana Leaf (superb THAI FOOD) what you thinking, indian food mer? we didnt come all the way to thai soil to eat indian food la, sorry indian friends (second nationalty to diss) hahaha. had some really good Tom Yam, some erm.. nice fried chicken, some RAW prawns(yes raw prawns, yummy) after lunch we went to Marbookrong (MBK) to walk around the complex, many stuff to buy but none for me. suppose to buy my O’Min Cue but heck care la, snooker cues another day then.

 

Agenda for the night:  We went to this seafood restaurant called BAN KLANG NAM (see even klang’s name was named in thailand) and yes the SEAFOOD WAS SUPERB. not a place to miss when you are in Bangkok. we had prawns the size of my fist, crabs, fish, the works man..oh did i mention that this place have service so chun that its hard to even believe, imagine, Manfred asked for the hammer to break the crab right, guess what happen next. the waitress came by and said gimme gimme, i was like thinking give you what, she took her hands (fitted with a glove la) then grab the claw i had and brought it to the next table, and she started cracking it with a spoon and handed it back to me all cracked and peeled ! WOW !! first time ever i had someone to break my claw for me, even those who got gf also got to crack for the gf, this time i know where to go for seafood liao .. ahah

 

We had beer to celebrate of course, ahah .. the dessert came and it was superb. the thai mango and sticky rice, SO YUMMY!!  next destination in Bangkok was Patpong (still on the same day we arrive have not time to rest yet ok) notorious for its sleezy bar and gay bar along the street, its the typical petaling street of Kuala Lumpur, but this is filled with pub and bar. everytime we walked by we were touted to go into a sleezy bar to watch tiger show, ping pong show, this show that show, hanged out in Patpong till 1.30am BKK time, msia time 2.30am (mind you not slept yet) hanged out at the famous hotel for SIA crew the Tawada Ramada with Jeff drinking and eating sidewalk food, but didnt see any Singapore Airline Girls also, the gang was like Oh gosh, thailand land of Beautiful girls. actually we splitted up me and jeff was walking around looking FOR… place to drink la.. what you thinking.. and the other three Manfred, Azuan and our Tour guide Yeoh was in another place.

 

me and jeff went back to the hotel: to find the rest in the lift also, we were all talking loudly even its late at night cause manfred is a bit tipsy, and telling us about 7 girls wanna pick him up ler, hhmm… so we probed more, then we said.. hey heck man.. lets go in the disco and see if your girls are still there, can have a good time ma, and on the way we go, 2am (thai time) headed back to patpong and into this disco which i dont even know. went in there Tiesto was being played, so ahhh.. sigh of relief.. some nice music spinning, ahah .. we walked around the bar to get some drinks, to get them more tipsy i got three shots of tequila and three glasses of uncle Jack, all bottoms up. So Manfred show us that the girls are still there dancing, i was like oh ok, Manfred went for the kill dancing next to them. ahah .. i was like enjoying the music so i went upstairs to the second floor to look down on the DJ spinning (i really was) saw jeff and manfred having a good time. so we left the place back to the hotel at 3am(thai time) damm tired, day two journey will be continued another day. check out day one pics at the photo album.
