This coming 9 am, 4th Aug (Women’s Triathlon) and 11:30am 7th August (Men’s Triathlon) Countries from all over the world will be racing for Gold, Silver and Bronze in the triathlon event. It is going to be a fast paced race with all the accomplished athletes racing for their country.
Just FYI: There are no heats in the Triathlon; both the men’s and women’s events consist of a single race. So who will you be rooting for ? My Take will be New Zealand for Gold, GBR for Silver and US of A for bronze for the mens race. Agreed?

Fartlek, which means “speed play” in Swedish, is a training method that blends continuous training with interval training. The variable intensity and continuous nature of the exercise places stress on both the aerobic and anaerobic systems. It differs from traditional interval training in that it is unstructured; intensity and/or speed can be varied whenever the athlete wishes

for me If you want to lose weight fast, this has got to be one of the best exercise you can do besides HIIT, which I will explain in another blog post, Fartlek can be done anytime, anywhere. I love doing fartlek but its really tough and I dont think I can do it, I will just do my Ironman or rather Triathlon. Have a Good Monday Peeps.

Seriously I think of a large steak when I am running my 26.2 aka 42k marathon, Don’t that happen just to about everyone ? Ice cold coke, fat juicy burger, pizzas etc..etc.. any fattening food that you just can think of. I have thought of it all when running half way through my races.
This items are usually my motivation when I run my races, everytime I tell myself I am gonna go get myself a big fat steak for my post race, but I never do it, why? cause I am fat enough and I dont think I can afford a fat juicy steak, yes the intensity of my workout maybe be as high as burning 3500cal a day but that does not mean I can just gorge myself silly with fatty food. #Eat Clean and reward yourself with some nice grilled salmon.
Speaking of motivational posters , here is this weeks RW motivational poster which is inline with my post today. I know you think of food as I do while running your races yes? no ? don’t deny.. (muffin? soda? McDonald?)

All you runners out there, we are all not bullet proof, we are all not made of special Adamantiun like Wolverine.. and you bet your arse that we will be injured one day. I have been lucky to date as the only running injury that I had was shin splits cause of my over training, Stupid me.. cramping runs after runs everyday just for an upcoming race.
I know people take supplement when they have problems, but aren’t you suppose to take supplements EVEN before you have injuries? I recommend glucosamine for your joints, well I do take them to prevent injuries (not taking chance)

How to rock around your clock

2. Plan your challenges: If you know you’re a morning person, put your heavy-lifting tasks at the top of your day. Schedule breaks for when you know your energy is low. You can even plan meetings at work or activities with kids around natural body rhythms — and make things timelier for everybody.

I did my final paper about a “No Smoking Campaign” I was from a PR background and I wanted to write something that was close to my heart, and boy did I went ballistic with the stats and numbers, I went all over government bodies, NGO and smokers. Compiling data and research from past years and each of its campaign.
All I can say is that smokers are winning this war (Sigh) and people are just not worried about the effect of smoking and their health. I really hope that I can make a change in people’s life, so far thankfully I come from a family that do not smoke and are pretty much sports loving background. Mom was a sprinter for her school days, Dad was a tennis player and manager for the state club, 2 Sister was a tennis player and softball player representing the school. I was playing tennis for my club and representing state for my cycling days. So I am pretty proud that we don’t smoke and are all pretty healthy.
I hope people will change and I do believe that doing sports will curb your addiction to smoking, I respect the decision that you decided to smoke, but do you think its beneficial? carefully think about it.

The more smoothly air flows over a frame and rider, the less wind resistance he will feel and the faster he’ll go. Engineers at Cervélo used aerospace-grade computational fluid dynamics software and virtual wind-tunnel tests to design the P5, the most aerodynamic bike ever.
With the software, the team at Cervélo designed, rendered and wind-tunnel-tested dozens of P5 prototypes, before ever constructing a physical model. They identified and refined drag-causing areas. For example, they lowered the handlebars and added internal hydraulic brake cables. They also created a tapered rear edge on the seat post, which reduces turbulence off the rider’s backside, allowing air to flow more fluidly around him. The changes translate to 75 grams less drag than on the P5’s predecessor, a reduction that could result in gains of 1.6 seconds per mile—and a gold-medal run in the 44-kilometer Olympic time trial.

This weekend was a crazy weekend, Fast Cars was drifting legally in Singapore and it can only be the Formula Drift Singapore 2012 by Achilles, Last week I gave out tickets to the movie premiere of Motorway in-conjunction with this event. Marcus was one lucky dude and he was so nice to bring his dad to the movies. That’s him with Ken Gushi and his dad (in checkered shirt)
Seriously I never knew that there was such a big following in Singapore, and I was amazed with the turn out, despite the weather which was HOT HOT HOT, I think my face got burned but the hottest thing that eclipse the heat are the cars and racers themselves.
