Shimano’s Triathlon dedicated Website
Triathlon has been gaining attention over the years and with the help of the Dot M franchise it will only get bigger.
Shimano seize the chance to have a dedicated website just for Triathlon specific and I can foresee them having a dedicated shop just for triathletes. How cool will that be?
Take a look at the font of their webpage.
the website has a feature gallery where you see all the latest happenings for Shimano and you can even link with their Twitter or RSS feed for updates.
Do visit their website at TriShimano.com
I click on the page cause I saw CaitSnow.. LOL.. Have a great week ahead
Samsung Galaxy S3 or Apple iPhone 5
This two company has been on the lips of nearly all the tech geeks out there and I am pretty sure when I mentioned two companies, you roughly have an idea who they are. Have heard the conversation and seen the comparison side by side many times when people attends a function or a meet up, the burning question was ” Samsung or Apple” ? Galaxy S3 or iPhone.
There is definitely a fair share from both pool with their newest gadget. Apple played the cards right and brought Samsung to court and won. Sorry Sammy you were a tad too slow but you hold the stake for their chips.
I have tried and owned different OS for the past years, mainly Symbian when they were hot and you know which company they are from.. listing down back the types that I can remember (not in chronological order)
- Palm OS
- Symbian
- Microsoft CE
- Blackberry
- Maemo
- iOS
- Android
- WebOS
- Linux
So why did I came up with this post? I stumble upon this advert by Sammy bashing Apple, but that is not all.. found a video which makes alot of sense for people who wants to buy an iPhone5. well I have yet to handle a i5 but my Sammy is on the way.

(Credit: Samsung)
This advert is hilarious, seriously creative and I give kudos to the creative director, well played ! well played as it says it all..
After watching the commercial, do let me know what you think ? i5 or Sammy for you?
PS: Dont hate me for posting this, I am no fanboy of any particular system. I currently hold four OS, Blackberry, iPhone Android and Nokia.
Entrepreneur at 20?? Far From it seriously..
Entrepreneur at 20? not that It can’t be done, there are plenty of teen success stories all over the papers and even 13 year old owning company that he built own his own. 13 years of age YO ! but this post that I am about to share please do judge for yourself if its True or False
I chanced upon a video on Youtube website as I was searching for drift cars, and it was about this young girl racing in a white Lambo against a white Skyline GTR on some highway in America. What made me awed in amazement was the ridiculous amount of (more…)
Paperback or Digital Print, which is better?
I saw this new book that was raved by HBR a couple of minutes ago, the reviews for it was so darn good , I was so tempted to click on buy in Amazon, It was on offer anyway, $25.99 down to a cool $15.27. Then the big question here came when I wanted to choose paperback or eBook.
Some pros and cons for having
Paperback
Pros
- Touch (tangible feel of holding and feeling the book)
- The smell of printed paper (not sure if this is a pro but for me it is) its like smelling new money
Cons
- Take up space
- Will have mildews after keeping for some time
Digital Print
Pros
- Cheaper (not sure if its cheaper)
- Easy on the weight, you can carry like 100 books in 1 device
Cons
- Might get corrupted
- Your reader might run out of juice
- You have to buy a reader before you can start reading. $$$
So What would you choose ? help me decide at the polls below
Diablo 3 Last Boss done in 6hrs
Got to the office this morning and first thing I heard from my colleague was that some Korean have finished the game in 6 hours ? I was like come on whats up with that ? Respect the developers, they put their mind to it creating a new scene, gameplay and cinematic for you and I bet you just skipped every darn thing. In your mind its gotta be kill kill kill kill kill and kill.
That’s from the opening sequence to defeating the final boss, Diablo himself — playing on the normal difficulty setting. A second group of Chinese players also defeated Diablo in the same amount of time. Both parties even took screenshots of the defeated boss lying dead on the ground as proof of their victory
Korean Finishing the Game
Chinese Finishing the Game
Most people have waiting to play the game must have encountered Error 37, that is why this was mentioned
“Even though the clan defeated the final boss, it apparently could not obtain the in-game items due to, well, a server problem.”
I think even the reviewers need a longer time to write the review then them finishing the game, but no doubt those guys are the best !!
“This launch is a culmination of many years of hard work by our development team, and many years of passionate, dedicated support from gamers around the world,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We’re grateful for the enthusiasm of our players, and for the help of our beta testers in getting the game ready for release. Now that Diablo 3 is live, we hope everyone’s ready to have a hellishly good time slaying demons and collecting loot in Sanctuary.”
Game ON !!
Path the New Facebook
I am sure most of you who are on twitter have heard about people talking about Path, you guys must be wondering like WHAT?? What’s these path person all talking about? A new route? A new destination to a new place? Well it is to me at least.. to me this is the NEW FACEBOOK, and this Facebook is one that I will join for sure, and for the record I do not have a Facebook account, quit looking up for me.. I won’t exist, chat me up on twitter, I am more than happy to tweet to you.
So here is a little insight of my own to the latest Social Media that is buzzing .. What’s Path you say?
Path was founded by Shawn Fanning, Dustin Mierau and Dave Morin a little over a year ago on November 2010 and Guess what? Dave was from Facebook so you will definitely see some traces of FB here and there. This social network program to me is more intimate and it lets you share your moments with your “CLOSE” friends, well this was their PATH to ensure that only close people share the moments.
This is what its Co-founder and CEO, says: “Our long-term grand vision here is to build a network that is very high quality and that people feel comfortable contributing to at any time.”
I like it when they use HIGH Quality, so yup please be selective of your friends in Path as this is like a journal
Path let’s you share Post of Pictures, Music, Thoughts, Location, Video *not for android yet and best part SLEEPING patterns and Time of awakening, when I started using this I was like .. WHAT?? Who ever is gonna use that? Now I use the sleep and awake mode religiously, I will get to log the hours of sleep I have and it’s always nice to see Path message when you awake. Try it you will know what I mean.
Path, available for iOS and Android devices, also integrates with Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare and Tumblr to allow cross-posting to the social networks, The OS is fairly easy to use, some say its even easier to use than Twitter, I have to somewhat kinda agree on that, You guys gonna love it, to me I feel it’s an integration between FB, Twitter, Instagram, Foursquare all bundle into one, but without nosy people that stick their nose into other business.
Did I mention Path’s photo app have those neat Instagram like filters, pretty nifty to make you one of those wannabe pro photographer and wait for it.. it is only limited to 50 people only (LOL) its true, but that was a year ago, they realized that people in this generation have lots of friends, they increased it 3 fold to 150 people, so if you have more than that, you have to bump them off. This is my short review of Path. Hope you will try it out, Sorry if I don’t add ya on Path, its nothing Personal.
Try it you will “LOVE IT”
Testing out WordPress App for Android

Just downloaded the android app for my trusty tab. Wonder if it us easier to use.. Dont think I will be writing a full post. As this is just a test.
Missing Images after migrating to WordPress
I hesitated to migrate my live space account to WordPress , but I guess we all didn’t have a choice, not sure why they are migrating us, it could be maybe because MSN did not want to host the blog site no more, it started with them taking down the statistic options where blog owners can see how many people come in their website and from which website, or search words.
Henry this morning asked me if I was still blogging so I think maybe he has not read my blog for a long time, but no matter, He was asking me if I had migrated, which I had already done, so he posted this question to me, Hey where was is the images from your blog? I was like, hhmm.. good question, seems to me there wasn’t one in the wordpress account. Seems bad, as because Live Space use to have a photog gallery. After digging deeper, I found out that the blog post with images will be transferred to wordpress as of the Images in the gallery ! you can say SAYONARA !! ok ok .. just kidding, don’t panic, it’s still available in you Windows Live location at http://photos.live.com/ I got the info off at this website http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2010/09/27/welcome-windows-live-spaces-bloggers/

Calling all lovers of Android, Apple and game crazed fans, this is to unite the entire Angry Birds lover game fans, The season has bestow us and its making us all merry and happy,
So now ROVIO is coming up with their seasonal download for AngryBirds and if you are a sure crazed fan, I am sure you are already shooting those birds to destroy the pigs now.
Here is where you can get more info, Thanks to VRZone for providing the lead. Enjoy your pig Killing and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Angry Birds Seasons Crashes Into Android Marketplace And iTunes App Store
Fact of life number one: there can never be too much of Angry Birds. Fact of life number two: any news about Angry Birds is almost always good news. And with Rovio’s latest release of the wildly popular smartphone game, it appears that one thing is certain: life without Angry Birds today is almost unbearable.
Of course, that might sound a little too extreme, but it does not change the fact that Angry Birds is the one game title which has managed to take the world by storm (while disrupting our concentration at work in the process). And today, it seems that our motivation to work during the festive period is about to meet a severe setback: Rovio has just launched their new, Christmas-themed version Angry Birds in time for the holidays.

Gameplay-wise, Angry Birds Seasons is perfectly identical to its non-seasonal predecessor, save for a few cosmetic differences. To keep in line with the Christmas spirit, much of the landscape has been replaced with snow, snow balls are available for use as projectiles, and some of the ugly pigs now sport Santa hats instead of tin helmets. Of course, those pigs are still going to be your main antagonists in Seasons, so don’t expect them to be distributing Christmas presents any time soon. That is, unless they offer to sign a peace treaty and return the stolen eggs. And we all know what the outcome was.
But there’s more. Apparently, as an act of goodwill, Rovio is also making the Halloween version of the game available in Seasons as well. This essentially means that users are getting two games for the price of one. But since Seasons is already a free download, it might be more prudent to say that users will get both games for the price. However, this only applies to Android users. iOS users will only get Angry Birds Seasons for free if that had previously purchased the Halloween version of the game. If not, the full price of $0.99 stays, but will come with the Halloween version bundled within as well
The game is already available for download from the Android Marketplace and the iTunes App Store, so Android and iOS users can hit their respective app repositories and start downloading away.
9 Gadgets that the Smartphone have killed
I use to like blogging about my life and stuff, about things I have stupidly done or even small things that brings joy to me, but I don’t know why the sudden change of blogspace made me kinda lazy to even key in my entry, its not that its harder or there is nothing to blog, Recently there was the move from Livespace to WordPress, so it must be the new layout and stuff that’s making me moody over blogging.
Anyway, to continue blogging about techstuff, I would like to bring you this topic that how the smartphone will kill those 9 gadgets and I think even more. I have been using smartphone since the era of Blackberry and Palm but the recent years of all the new and upcoming smartphone is really crazy crammed with new outstanding features. So sit back and relax. Lemme know if its true or not. SMartPhone Killed the Radio Star!

PDAs
Back in the 90s, a personal digital assistant (PDA) was the must-have gadget for the busy executive. Palm, which produced one of the leading PDAs in the market lost about half its market share in the US when the demand for smartphones increased. -
Handheld video cameras
When smartphones (and now even some DSLRs) have video recording functions, the camcorder or handheld video camera may appeal only to a small group of consumers -
Mp3 players
According to Deloitte, 42% of smartphone users have reduced or stopped using portable digital music players because of their phones’ music-playing capabilities.
It remains to be seen how iPod sales will be affected by the prevalence of smartphones. -
Digital cameras
Low end digital cameras may soon become extinct. Most smartphones now have at least a 5-megapixel capability. Nokia’s N8 smartphone even has a 12-megapixel camera.
Pam Tufegdzic, a consumer electronics analyst said: “Handsets soon may begin to cannibalize the low-end of the digital still camera market as they incorporate higher megapixels and flash capabilities.” -
Handheld video games
More consumers are using their phones for portable gaming. In the bus or train, you’re likely to see more people playing games on their phones rather than a PSP or Nintendo DS.
According to Flurry Analytics, the percentage of portable gaming revenue generated by the iPhone grew from 5% to 19% in 2009. Apple said the company has sold more than 1.5 billion iPhone/iPod Touch OS games. At present, six of the top 10 highest-grossing apps are games, such as “Angry Bird” -
GPS
More and more phones are including GPS technology. Garmin’s exit from the smartphone market only indicated that it would focus more on apps to integrate its reputable navigation software into more devices.
-
PCs
There may come a day when smartphones replace the PC for accessing the Internet. IT research firm Gartner predicts that smartphone sales will overtake PC sales by 2012, if not earlier. Consumers will increasingly rely on their phones for Internet use instead of their PCs, especially when owning a smartphone means Internet on the go.

Regular mobile phones
Having a phone with a camera is no longer enough. You need to have an app that can edit it and make it look cool, then be able to upload it to Twitter or Facebook. Not to mention the fact that a media player has become an essential part of every phone. The regular mobile phone is fast becoming obselete. Until you go to NS or get called for reservist.Unless, of course, you want to buck the trend and get an anti-smartphone
Is it time for you to get a smartphone?

Alarm clocks
When’s the last time you used an alarm clock? Back during school days? It seems like the only people who will be buying stand-alone alarm clocks now are parents who want their kids to wake up in time for the school bus. Most of us were accustomed to using the alarm function on our phones long before we migrated to smartphones, and haven’t had any problems

Oh let me paste a picture as well .. ok enjoy and have a good laugh

Comparison of iPhone and Android Users.

data, released by US website Coupons.com, highlighted the differences in
discount coupons downloaded by iPhone users and their Android
counterparts.
is available for the iPhone, iPad and Android, the website analyzed the
number of coupons downloaded and printed by different groups of
smartphone owners.
#7. iPhone users smell like girls, Android users smell like men Are Androids from Mars and iPhones from Venus? iPhone users downloaded eight times as many coupons for women’s body wash products as compared to Android users. Android owners, on the other hand, downloaded more coupons for men’s body wash. #6. Android users are pork-eaters, while iPhone owners eat chicken According On
#4. Fish owners VS bird keepers If you own an iPhone, you’re more likely to keep fish. Own an Android phone? Chances are you keep a bird as a pet. Multi-surface cleaners made the top of the list of coupons downloaded for cleaning products among iPhone users. On the other hand, Android owners preferred buying continuous toilet bowl cleaners on the cheap. Does
#1. Conclusion If we merged all the data from the Coupons.com analysis, we get the following: iPhone users are feminine-smelling, chicken-eating, house-cleaning, fish owner parents with young kids. On the other hand, Android users are masculine-smelling, pork-eating, bird-owning, arthritis-prone passive toilet bowl cleaners. Quite different, don’t you think?
It would seem so, if you look at the type of body wash coupons
downloaded by both sets of users.
to the Coupons.com data, iPhone users seem to have a thing for chicken -
on their dinner tables at least. They downloaded 6 times more discount
coupons for chicken meat as compared to their Android counterparts.
the other hand, Androind owners are pork-eaters. Not only were discount
coupons for pork the favourite among them, they downloaded those
coupons almost twice as often as their iPhone-totting friends.
they seem to keep quite a lot of fish at home too – iPhone users
downloaded a whooping 26.2 times more fish food coupons compared to
their Android user counterparts.
hand, downloaded the most bird food coupons. For every one bird food
coupon downloaded by an iPhone user, Android owners downloaded 3.6 such
coupons.
seems like Android owners are either spending too much time at the
office desk, or just don’t like rainy days too much. They’re also more
likely to take care of themselves first when it comes to personal care
products.
Personal Care products category was for arthritis and pain-relief
patches. May we suggest say, a few hours outdoors, Android people?
owners, on the other hand, seem to be busy parents. Their favourite
coupons in this category were for baby care products; and they were
downloading them with a gusto – at a rate of 41.7 times more than
Android users.
the Coupons.com data suggest then, that iPhone users are more hands-on
people, while Android users spend more time on the can?

Ipad Weighing Scale Apps
Segiempat or rather Foursquare
What is foursquare?
In a nutshell, it’s a location service-based social
network-come-game. What it does in effect is to tell you where your
friends are and add a little fun to going out in the evening. It’s like
Google Lattitude meets a little bit of Facebook, a touch of Twitter, a dash of Qype and even a twist of World of Warcraft. And if that’s not a cocktail for hopeless addiction, then we’re not sure what is.
How does it work?
The whole system is based around what is known as "checking-in". You
check-in from bars and restaurants and any kind of nightspot or
watering hole, perhaps with a little message
about where you are and what you’re doing – all very brief – and the
system will then register what you’re up to. People who you’re friends
with will then get pinged a message to let them know your whereabouts
and activities, and the idea is that they can then join you if they
fancy or just be pleased that you’re out
having a good time. From the other side of things, if you’re out on
your own somewhere, suddenly mateless in town or stuck at home and bored, you can see where everyone’s
at and get yourself down to the party. All pretty simple. The other two
things you can do are create a to-do-list of places you’ve always
wanted to go and add to a Top 12 list of your recommendations for other
people.
And what about the game?
The clever, or clever-er, part is that you get points for
checking-in. The idea is that it encourages you to do so, which then
gets the system running and propagates the idea and the fun even
further. It’s all rather new, even for the developers, and much of the
system is still evolving but, at the moment, you get a point for
checking in, you get five points if it happens to be from a place
you’ve never checked-in from before; a further point if it’s the
second, third, fourth etc place of the evening; and another still for
checking-in multiple nights in a row, you old booze hound, you. You can
only get points for checking-in outside of work hours – presumably to
prevent potential mass job loss and alcoholism – but you’re always
eligible for the five discovery points no matter what time of day it is.
Naturally,
the points aren’t good for anything other than bragging rights but
that’s currency a-plenty with a leader board on the site with the top
users. Also, if you check-in from the same place more times and more
regularly than anyone else, then you might find yourself crowned Mayor
of that gaff on the site – an honour that many may try to wrestle from
you but then, that’s part of the fun. You’ll probably begin as rivals
and end up the next week amassing 50 points together on some all night
bender.
You can also earn badges as you check-in which is where the parallel of World of Warcraft
and its Achievements system lies. Firstly, there are badges for the
number of times you’ve checked-in to new establishments from Newbie up
to Superstar, plus all sorts of random and more cryptic titles to earn.
Word has it that this is where the real addiction lies, especially with
the team working on and taking suggestions for all sorts of new badges.
The really clever part
That’s basically the fun side of foursquare and what you’ll
appreciate as a user, but while all this is going on, the owners of the
service are also gathering some very considerable review and guide data
for all the best spots in a whole bunch of major cities all over the
world. It’s the kind of user-generated content that Qype
specialises in but in a much less in-depth way. What foursquare then
decides to do with that is up to the business but there’s certainly
plenty of commercial scope, if only for the desire of new bars and
restaurants to get themselves listed or even to have a badge made just
for them.
How do I start?
Like all social networks, just head to the foursquare site and sign up with a free and very brief profile which will ask you for your mobile phone number so it can ping you. Then add a photo and find your friends.
Can anyone use it?
Well, yes and no. Firstly, the system has to be city specific, so
there are different networks for a number of different locations. If
there doesn’t happen to be one in your location then, it’s not going to
work for you. So far you can play in: Amsterdam, Atlanta, Austin,
Boston, Chicago, Dallas / Fort Worth, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Las
Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis / St. Paul, New York City,
Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle,
Washington, DC and now London as well. You’ll need a mobile phone to
check-in from and a decent SMS package on your price plan or, better still, there’s an app for Android, iPhone and soon ones for BlackBerry and the Palm Pre too.
Nexus ONE or Iphone
IT LOOKS like everyone knows I own a piece of hot property.
And everyone has been asking me the same questions: Is the Google
Nexus One (N1) better than the iPhone? Why should we bother about
Google’s first own-brand smartphone when there is the iPhone?
In my opinion, both are wrong questions to ask.
In terms of device specs, the N1 beats the iPhone 3GS hands down.
The N1 has a higher resolution screen of 800 x 480 pixels (or twice
that of the iPhone’s), 5-megapixel camera with flash (3-megapixel and
no flash for the iPhone), twin microphones for active noise
cancellation to block out background noises and a much faster processor
(1GHz vs 600MHz).
That the N1 is the smartphone with the best specs around is only
because it is the latest. In the ongoing brutal cellphone war, the next
big phone (think iPhone version 4 or N2) will surely be even better.
The right question to ask is: ‘Which mobile platform do I want to
support – the Google Android or the iPhone’s Mac OS?’ This is because
chances are, once you are on one platform, your future phones will go
on the same platform too due to familiarity.
Many of my friends who are already on the iPhone were not convinced
about the N1. Rightly so, because they are already used to the iPhone
and the user interface on the N1 is, at best, comparable.
What makes the Android different from other mobile platforms is that
it is, in spirit, a Web phone. The reason is simple: The meteoric
growth of Google’s online advertising business in the PC world has
slowed down and mobile advertising is its next frontier. To succeed,
Google needs users to go online and, hopefully, eyeball the ads. That
is why the only thing you need to key in when you start up a new N1 is
your Gmail account information.
Immediately, my Gmail, Google contacts, Google calendar, Google Talk
and even photos previously uploaded on Picasa Web were synched with my
phone over the air, in minutes. I use the word synched, not downloaded,
because in the Google world, your data is stored in Google’s Internet
cloud and not on the handset.
But a combination of fast 3G speeds and excellent software from
Google means that you will not be able to tell the difference. The flip
side of having data stored on Google’s cloud, however, means that
Google can access your data, through software bots trawling your
account to know you better – and push targeted advertising to you. (We
trust Google to live up to its motto and do no evil.)
The iPhone is a very different creature. It started off as the first
iPod with a phone line and, today, is best described as a hybrid. You
can get e-mail over the air, download tons of apps on the fly and still
cable-synch your iTunes music library, contacts and calendars between
phone and PC. The iPhone is not a full Web-only device.
So if you already live in the Google world like me, Android is the
best choice because Google’s own apps like Gmail and Google Talk work
best on this OS.
But if you love your iTunes music library and cannot live without
your iPod, or if you are uncomfortable with storing most of your data
on the cloud, then without a doubt, go for the iPhone.

Its really beautiful with the creation of blogpost, friendster, facebook, myspace, and the latest to be tried by me TWITTER. I am now in touch with Barrack Obama, Lance Armstrong, Tony AirAsia Fernandes or even Gurmit Singh, well its not really feeling them or talking to them, even thought they can do that but dont think they have time for people like us. So what do we do, we just follow them, in twitter terms its getting to know what they are up to when they so call update their tweet/twit. The world now is so small that you can find out any ALMOST anything you wan with a click, hence the phrase "shrunk to a click"
I am not going to type in extended detail about this but just to share a thought cause I am typing this blogpost on a 10inch netbook which is made for gnomes or elfs hiding in technology land, just wanna say that technology helped me gain great friendship along the way from my Nsao of Thailand who then in turn married to my Best friends, to girls from UK, to Japan and most currently on twitter, business owners like @Standingsushi who has great PR skills but honestly I think a great friend. do visit him and say hi to him at his website click here and do follow him in his business growth in his blogsite, pretty cool and that is his wordpress background image, "NICEEEEE"
I am going to stop here, cause my fingers is getting all cramped up typing on this minisized keypad. have fun tomorrow is YellowRibbon run at changi, only a short 10k run, bet its going to be really fun ! more pics tomorrow
Nokia is doing what ?
I really wonder how will this affect the race of the netbook, I do hope all prices will come down as I am looking to upgrade my laptop, My baby Acer has been with me for over 4 years now, its running fine and still going strong, despite the few upgrades I did to ensure that it keep itself up to date, its still looks pretty run down after so many years of usage, but hey like I always say if its not broken why fix it! lets see whats the price of this Nokia baby ! if its good and within range why not !

Hackers get hold of critical internet flaw
Internet security researchers warned that hackers have caught on to a "critical" flaw that lets them control traffic on the internet.
An elite squad of computer industry engineers that labored in secret to solve the problem released a software "patch" two weeks ago and sought to keep details of the vulnerability hidden for at least a month to give people time to protect computers from attacks.
"We are in a lot of trouble," said IOActive security specialist Dan Kaminsky, who stumbled upon the Domain Name System (DNS) vulnerability about six months ago and reached out to industry giants to collaborate on a solution.
"This attack is very good. This attack is being weaponised out in the field. Everyone needs to patch, please. This is a big deal."
DNS is used by every computer that links to the internet and works similar to a telephone system routing calls to proper numbers, in this case the online numerical addresses of websites.
The vulnerability allows "cache poisoning" attacks that tinker with data stored in computer memory caches that relay internet traffic to destinations.
Attackers could use the vulnerability to route users wherever they want, no matter what address is typed into a web browser. The threat is greatest for business computers handling online traffic or hosting websites, according to security researchers.
The flaw is a boon for "phishing” cons that involve leading people to imitation web pages of businesses such as banks or credit card companies to trick them into disclosing account numbers, passwords and other information.
"I was not intentionally seeking to cause anything that could break the internet,” Kaminsky said today during a conference call with peers and media. "It’s a little weird to talk about it out loud.”
Kaminsky built a web page, http://www.doxpara.com, where people can find out whether their computers have the DNS vulnerability. As of today, slightly more than half the computers tested at the website still needed to be patched.
"People are spending tens of thousands of hours getting this patch out the door,” Kaminsky said.
The US Computer Emergency Readiness Team (CERT), a joint government-private sector security partnership, is among the chorus urging people to quickly protect computers linked to the internet.
"Just like you should wear a seat belt going down the road to be safe in a car accident, the same applies here,” said Jerry Dixon, a former director of cyber security at the US Department of Homeland Security.
Two "exploits,” software snippets that take advantage of the vulnerability, have been unleashed on the internet in the past 24 hours, Securosis analyst Rich Mogul said during the conference call."The threat is there,” Mogul said.
