Cycle Asia

SINGAPORE, 18 MARCH 2015 – Spectrum Worldwide, event owners and organisers of Cycle Asia Singapore today announced the participation of leading health and wellness supplements provider BRAND’S® as a new category title sponsor of the Prologue event which will be held on 11 April“

At BRAND’S®, we believe that good health is the foundation that enables people to be at their personal best,” said Isabella Tan, Vice President & General Manager (Singapore/Brunei/Philippines), Cerebos Pacific Limited. “We see the Cycle Asia BRAND’S® Prologue as an event for any rider who wants to take on the challenge of outperforming himself. This fits perfectly with our vision to create possibilities for people to achieve their personal best.”

BRAND’S®, which marks its 180th anniversary this year, will be launching the new Gen U Ginseng Nutritive Drink at the BRAND’S® Prologue event, giving participants the chance to be among the first to enjoy it’s refreshing taste and goodness.

BRAND’S® joins Japanese probiotic dairy brand Yakult and Boost Juice Bars™ of Australia as category title sponsors for Cycle Asia Singapore 2015, the seventh instalment of the popular multi award-winning mass cycling event, to give a distinctly healthy feel to the event this year.

The BRAND’S® Prologue is a brand new category which will be introduced for the first time during this year’s Cycle Asia Singapore 2015 event to be held from 10-12 April at the F1 Pit Building. Some 500 amateur cyclists are expected to test themselves on the same competition course which the professional riders competed on in previous editions – complete with starting ramp – for the first time in the event’s history.

“The Prologue is a new category which we are introducing this year to make this year’s event more interesting and we are delighted to welcome on board a household name like BRAND’S® as a new sponsor,” said Chris Robb, Chief Executive Officer, Spectrum Worldwide. “BRAND’S® has long been associated with healthy living so it makes for a perfect fit for them to be part of the rebranded Cycle Asia Singapore, which is going back to its origins to promote cycling for the masses as a healthy lifestyle.”

For the uninitiated, a prologue is a short individual time trial which is a reference to the opening stage of professional stage events to mark the start a race weekend.

The participants in the BRAND’S® Prologue will each receive a special jersey courtesy of BRAND’S® worth SGD$80.00. Participants who register for the BRAND’S® Prologue together with another category will also enjoy attractive bundle savings (see factsheet for details).

In line with the healthy theme of this year’s Cycle Asia Singapore event, the organisers have also launched a ‘Design the Cycle Asia Boost Smoothie’ contest, which will allow fans of the Boost Juice Bars™ come up with their own special smoothie concoctions for the event.

The winning entry will be announced on 31st March and the winner will be called in to blend his/her winning smoothie at the Boost Bugis Junction outlet on 5th April. The winner also walks away with a one-year supply of Boost drinks

.“At Boost we are all about having fun and being healthy at the same time, so being aligned with an event like Cycle Asia Singapore is a perfect fit in many ways,” said Nick Tiernan, Managing Director, owner and founder of Vitality Boost Sdn Bhd & Lovelife Ventures Pte Ltd, which owns the Boost Master Franchise for Malaysia, Singapore & Brunei.

“Cycling is one of the fastest growing sport in this region and the ‘Design the Cycle Asia Boost Smoothie’ contest is our way of engaging with our growing legion of fans in Singapore, many of whom are taking part in Cycle Asia Singapore. Our staff are doing their part by donning Cycle Asia Singapore T-shirts as well to promote the event.”
